New light or replacement?

COB means chip-on-board: several LEDs, the small electronic parts that make light, work together as one source. Start with whether your ceiling already has a hole.

New opening

New light

Choose a fitting for a new installation. Plan the positions before your electrician cuts any holes.

New ceiling or renovation
Existing opening

Replacing an old light

An old CFL (compact fluorescent), halogen or LED downlight; the hole is already cut. Measure the opening first. The Finder checks the hole before suggesting lights.

Use your existing opening

How to measure your old hole

The cut-out is the empty opening in the ceiling. Measure it in millimetres (mm), rather than the size of the light you removed.

Diameter · mm

Round

Measure through the centre, edge to edge. This distance across the circle is the diameter.

One side · mm

Square

Measure one side of the opening, edge to edge. Check the other side is the same size.

Both sides · mm

Rectangle

Measure both sides: length and width. The replacement must suit both measurements.

  1. Switch off the power at the circuit before touching the light.
  2. Ask your electrician to take the old light out safely.
  3. Measure the opening edge to edge, not the outer rim of the light.
  4. Send us a photo with a ruler if you are unsure.

Fits your hole means the documented opening size or adjustable range matches. Close match means within 5 mm; the outer rim must still cover your opening. Check with us before buying. A size marked “to check” is not yet a confirmed fit.

Recessed or surface?

Your ceiling decides how the light can be fitted. A false ceiling is a second ceiling below the main slab, often made from plasterboard.

Inside ceiling

Into a false ceiling · Recessed

Sits inside a false ceiling and needs a hole. Check room above it for the body and driver, the small power supply that runs the LED.

False ceilings
Below ceiling

On the ceiling surface

Mounts below the ceiling without a hole. The body stays visible. Check the mounting and wiring with your electrician.

Ceilings without a recess

For a replacement, the existing hole decides the fitting. Surface lights do not fill a ceiling hole.

Everyday downlight

Everyday downlight

A fixed light inside a ceiling hole for everyday lighting. Use several together for room or work-area lighting.

Everyday room lighting
Deep or decorative reflector

Deep or decorative reflector

A set-back source reduces direct glare, the uncomfortable brightness you see when looking at a light. A reflector is the shaped inner surface that helps direct light; its finish adds detail.

Softer view of the source
Trimless

Trimless

The rim disappears into the ceiling; needs plaster finishing. For a replacement, it needs re-plastering around the hole.

Planned ceiling finishing
Spot you can aim, zoom or wall-washer

Spot you can aim, zoom or wall-washer

Tilt changes direction; zoom changes beam width; a wall washer spreads light over a wall. Choose it for a painting, display or feature wall.

Art and feature walls
Multi-head & laser lines

Multi-head & laser lines

Several small light sources together in a cluster or line. “Laser” here means a row of small lights. Check the opening and the direction of the light.

Lines or clusters of light
Waterproof

Waterproof

Sealed fittings for bathrooms, balconies and covered outdoor areas. Check the documented IP water-protection rating on the exact light; the name alone does not confirm it.

Bathrooms and wet areas

Round, square or rectangle?

For a new light, choose the shape you enjoy. For a replacement, the hole decides the shape; the outer face can be larger than the opening.

Diameter · mm

Round

A circular light fitting. Check its cut-out diameter as well as its visible rim size.

A simple ceiling pattern
One side · mm

Square

A square fitting with straight edges. Check the opening size and align it with your room.

Straight ceiling lines
Both sides · mm

Rectangle

An elongated fitting, often with several light sources. Check both cut-out sides.

Which look?

The trim is the rim around a light. These are style suggestions. Lights in the look you pick are shown first, and other lights that match your answers are still shown.

Visible rim

Visible trim

A visible rim around the light. Choose the body finish to blend with the ceiling or stand out.

A defined rim
Source set back

Deep source

A set-back source helps reduce direct glare. The LED sits further inside the fitting, rather than close to its face.

Less direct glare
Shielded opening

Pinhole or honeycomb

A small opening or a honeycomb screen with small six-sided cells shields the source. Usually the least direct glare of these looks; the beam and position still matter.

Least direct glare
Inner reflector

Decorative reflector

A visible inner reflector adds a decorative detail. A reflector is the shaped surface around the LED that helps direct its light.

A decorative inner finish

Hidden rim means trimless: it needs plaster finishing. Body and reflector colours are finishes; they do not change the light colour.

Body and reflector colours

Body colour is the outer finish. Reflector colour is the inner surface around the source. Both change how the fitting looks; light colour describes the glow. Choose the finishes you like, then check the documented choices on each light.

White, black or grey body

Outer body in white, black or grey. White blends with a pale ceiling; black adds contrast; grey gives a softer contrast.

Outer body

Gold or brass

Gold and brass give the body or inner reflector a warm metallic shine. Choose the documented finish for your light.

Warm metallic finishes

Rose gold

A pink-toned metallic finish on the outer body or inside the light. Check which part has this finish on the model you choose.

Warm metallic finish

Chrome, silver or nickel

Cool metallic finishes for the body or reflector. Chrome is shiny, silver is a bright metal tone and nickel has a softer grey tone; the exact surface varies by model.

Cool metallic finishes

Copper or bronze

Copper has a warm reddish metal tone; bronze has a deeper brown metal tone. Check the documented body and reflector choices separately.

Warm metallic finishes

Brown or amber body

Outer body in brown or amber for a warmer decorative detail. Only the finishes listed for the chosen light are available.

Outer body

Black or white reflector

An inner reflector in black or white. Black makes the opening look darker; white gives it a lighter appearance. The reflector colour does not select the LED light colour.

Inner reflector

Coloured reflector

A coloured inner surface, such as green or blue where listed. The Finder shows only the reflector colours listed for each light. Words like pinhole or square describe the opening, not its colour.

Inner reflector

Metallic finishes include gold, brass, rose gold, chrome, silver, nickel, copper and bronze. The Finder shows only documented options with a matching light. Missing details are marked “to check”; ask us to confirm the finish before ordering.

Which light colour?

Kelvin (K) describes the colour of white light: lower numbers look warmer, higher numbers cooler. Room suggestions are a starting point; choose the shade you enjoy.

2700K4000K6500KWarmNaturalCoolK = light colour

Warm to cool: the Kelvin scale

2700K is a warm yellow-white; 4000K is a neutral white; 6500K is a cooler, bluish white. This scale shows shade, not brightness.

Warm white

Warm white · 2700–3000K

A cosy yellow-white light. Suggested for living rooms and bedrooms. A normal switch works with a simple on/off version.

Cosy living and bedrooms
Natural white

Natural white · 4000K

A neutral white. Suggested for kitchens, study and offices. A normal switch works with a simple on/off version.

Kitchens and study areas
Cool white

Cool white · 6000–6500K

Red · Green · Blue

RGB colours

Coloured light for décor. RGB means red, green and blue mixed into colours. Requires the stated compatible controller, remote or app.

Decorative colour

Most lights offer warm, natural or cool white, chosen when you order. Other shades (2700K, 5000K or 6500K) are available on request. Check the selectable colour and control for the exact light.

Which control do you need?

Choose the system you already use or prefer. The light and its driver, the LED power supply, must support that system. Check which controls are included.

Wall dimmer

Wall dimmer · Triac

Dims with a compatible Triac wall dimmer. A Triac dimmer is a common wall dimmer that lowers the power going to the light to dim it. You need a compatible dimmer and a Triac driver for this light.

Wall dimming

Wired control · DALI / 1-10V

For building or project lighting-control systems; needs control wiring. DALI sends digital commands; 1–10V uses a control voltage. You need the matching driver, control panel and dedicated wires.

Building or project systems
Hub + light

Zigbee

Works with a Zigbee smart hub (Alexa or Google Home through the hub). Zigbee is a wireless control system. You need a compatible hub and Zigbee light or driver.

A home with a smart hub
Remote only

Remote only · RF

Comes with its own RF remote; no app. RF means radio-frequency control. You need the matching receiver or driver and its paired remote.

Remote control without an app
Phone + remote

App + remote · Bluetooth

Control from a phone app or the remote. Bluetooth is a short-range wireless connection. You need the stated app, compatible light or driver and matching remote.

Phone and remote control
Normal switch

Simple on/off

A normal wall switch; no dimming. You need a suitable on/off driver and normal switched wiring.

Simple everyday switching

Tell us your existing dimmer or smart system before buying. A control marked “to check” is not yet confirmed for that light.

How bright, and how many?

W (watts) measures power use. Lumens measure light output, so the same watts can give different brightness. Beam means how widely a light spreads. These are suggestions; every matching wattage stays available.

Narrow · up to 24°

Soft accent · up to 7 W

Suggested for gentle accents. Room size and the number of lights also matter. The band includes 7 W.

Small highlights
Medium · above 24–40°

Everyday room light · over 7 W, up to 15 W

Suggested for everyday room lighting. This band starts above 7 W and includes 15 W. Choose the number of fittings with your room layout.

General room lighting
More light output

Brighter · above 15 W

Suggested when more light is wanted. Every wattage stays available. Check the lumens, beam and ceiling height as well.

Larger or taller spaces
Narrow · up to 24°

Narrow beam · up to 24°

A focused pool of light; highlights art or a counter. Narrow means up to 24°. The degree number describes the width of the beam.

Focused accents
Medium · above 24–40°

Medium beam · 25–40°

The usual choice for rooms. A middle spread for everyday lighting, a work area or a broader highlight.

Counters and highlights
Wide · above 40°

Wide beam · over 40°

Even, soft spread for large areas and low ceilings. Suggested for general light, with some overlap between fittings.

General light spread
Height ÷ 2Starting suggestion

A starting point for spacing

Start with lights about ceiling height ÷ 2 apart. For a 10 ft ceiling, that is about 5 ft between lights. A 12 × 12 ft room with a 10 ft ceiling may start with about 4 lights for general light.

Ask us for a layout

Adjustable beam · zoom

Change the beam from a narrow pool to a wider spread on the same light. Zoom changes width; tilt changes direction. Check the adjustable range on the model.

Change the spread

Always a suggestion: room use, wall distance, beam width, light output and furniture change the layout. Send us your room dimensions and ceiling height for help planning it.

Bathrooms and wet areas

IP is a protection rating for dust and water. Choose the documented rating for the exact light and its position, rather than relying on its name.

IP65IP44+Suggested zones

Suggested bathroom zones

Near the shower, IP65 is suggested. For the rest of the bathroom, IP44 or higher is suggested. Ask your electrician to confirm the rating and position for your room.

Check the fitting position
Check the IP rating

IP44 or higher

IP44 protects against small solid objects and splashing water. Suggested for the rest of a bathroom, away from direct shower spray.

Splash protection
Check the IP rating

IP65

IP65 is dust-tight and protects against water jets. Suggested near showers; it does not mean the fitting can be submerged.

Near the shower

A waterproof name alone does not confirm a rating. Where no rating is documented, treat it as “rating to confirm” and ask us before buying.

Upgrade options for your light

Where compatible options exist, they are shown with the exact price difference on each light. Each option belongs to that light, with its own price and availability.

LED power supply

Branded driver

The driver is the small power supply for the LED. A branded option names its maker. Check compatibility with your chosen light and control.

CRI 90 / 97

CRI means colour rendering index: how faithfully a light shows colours. CRI 90 or 97 can help clothes, furniture and art look more natural.

More faithful colours
More light output

High lumen

Lumens measure the amount of light produced. A high-lumen option gives more output; compare the stated lumens for the exact configuration.

More light output
Steadier output

Reduced flicker

Flicker is a rapid change in light output. This option uses a driver designed for steadier light. Check the stated performance and dimmer compatibility for the exact option.

Common questions

Can I replace an old CFL, halogen or LED downlight?

Yes, if the new fitting suits the ceiling opening and wiring. Measure the hole first. The Finder separates confirmed fits, close matches and lights whose size needs checking.

What if the light is a close match for my hole?

Ask us before buying. A close match may need work around the opening. The outer rim must cover the hole. We can check a photo and your measurements.

Can every downlight work with a dimmer?

No. The light needs a compatible driver and control. Tell us whether you use Triac, DALI, 1–10V, Zigbee or another system so we can check the exact option.

How many lights will my room need?

Room size, ceiling height, layout and beam width all matter. The Finder gives a starting suggestion. Send us your room dimensions and a plan for help checking the layout.

Can I see the lights in person?

Yes. Visit one of our four showrooms in Delhi NCR. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 98991 88821 first to check the model is on display.

What if no light matches all my answers?

Check the labelled alternatives and any details marked to confirm. For a replacement, do not treat an unknown hole size as a fit. Send us your measurements and we will help you choose.

Does a close match mean the replacement will fit?

A close match is within 5 mm of your opening; it is not a confirmed fit. The outer rim must still cover the hole, and work around the opening may be needed. Check with us before buying.

How do the quality tiers and warranties work?

Essential and Standard have a 2-year warranty, Performance 3 years and Ultra 5 years. Warranty follows the selected tier. Available tiers are shown on the exact light with the price difference; warranty is not a separate add-on.
