Bespoke Crystal Butterfly Spiral Chandelier – Lobby, Chennai

Jainsons Lights, since 1978, designed, supplied and installed a spiral crystal chandelier for a double-height lobby in Vadapalani, Chennai. The order came through a Chennai fit-out contractor in January 2025, and the chandelier was installed in March 2025.

Project Overview:

• Site: A double-height lobby (name withheld)
• Location: Vadapalani, Chennai
• Year: 2025
• Scope: 3D design, supply and installation

Design Concept:

A spiral of crystal butterflies winds down from a large round ceiling plate, sized for the height of the lobby.

• Spiral of butterflies: K9 crystal butterflies in three sizes (55, 75 and 95 mm), arranged in a spiral, as set out in our layout.
• Mirror-gold ceiling plate: a 1.8 m round stainless-steel plate in glossy gold PVD finish, with spotlights set into it to light the crystals from above.

Execution Highlights:

• Size: 1.8 m diameter with a drop of about 4.5 m.
• Approval before production: the client approved our 3D design and chose the plate finish from our finish samples before we started making it.
• Lighting: the spotlights in the plate light the crystal butterflies from above; the chandelier is also visible through the glass entrance.
