Custom Marble Globe Spiral Chandelier – Residence, Defence Colony, New Delhi

Jainsons Lights, since 1978, made a custom spiral chandelier of marble globes for a private residence in Defence Colony, New Delhi. The chandelier was installed in May 2025.

Project Overview:

• Site: a private residence (name withheld)
• Location: Defence Colony, New Delhi
• Year: 2025
• Scope: custom chandelier made and installed

Design Concept:

Glowing stone globes trace a loose spiral down the height of the stairwell, so the chandelier looks different from every landing.

• Marble globes: marble globes in three sizes. When lit, the light shows through the veining of the stone and the globes glow a warm amber.
• Spiral frame: a black powder-coated metal spiral carries the globes, with the lamp holders set outside each globe.
• Suspension: the frame hangs from the ceiling on fine clutch wires, so the spiral seems to float.

Execution Highlights:

• Size: about 10 ft overall.

The photos and video were taken at installation, with the scaffolding still in place.
