COD Orders — How It Works
Cash on Delivery — how it works at Jainsons Lights
We accept COD with a 25% advance. Builds trust both ways and lets us reserve your item with confidence.
Why partial COD?
Full COD on first-time orders carries risk for both sides — for us (uncertain commitment) and for you (no leverage if things go wrong). The 25% advance system solves this cleanly:
- You inspect the goods at doorstep before paying 75%.
- We can confidently reserve stock and dispatch knowing the order is a real commitment.
- If anything is wrong with the product, you have only committed 25%, not 100%.
The 4-step process
You place a COD order
Add to cart, select Cash on Delivery, complete checkout. Nothing is charged at this step.
We confirm stock and exact dispatch date (within 24 hours)
Our team verifies physical stock and confirms the exact dispatch date based on your product type — Ready Stock (2-3 days), Made-to-Order (7-15 days), Assembled-to-Order (2-5 days), or items marked Stock Confirmation Required. If unavailable, we cancel and inform you. If available, we move to advance payment.
You pay 25% advance via secure link
We send a Razorpay / UPI / card payment link. Once you complete the 25% advance, your order moves to processing.
Order dispatched, 75% balance paid at delivery
We pack and dispatch. You pay the remaining 75% in cash (or UPI on delivery if your courier supports it) when the goods arrive.
Once the 25% advance is paid, COD orders cannot be cancelled. We have already reserved your item or started processing. Please be sure before confirming the advance payment.
Most Jainsons products are bulky lighting fixtures — chandeliers, large pendants, profile lights, ceiling installations — not small courier packages. This affects how COD orders ship:
- Limited carriers — COD payments can only be processed through authorised carriers that support COD-on-delivery via authorised modes. Many bulk-transport companies don't offer COD, which limits our shipping options for COD orders.
- Bulky orders may not be feasible via COD — Depending on your destination, the available shipper for bulky goods may not handle COD at all. In those cases, our team will reach out to discuss full payment as the alternative.
- COD is generally slower — Even when COD is available, COD shipments typically take longer than prepaid orders because of carrier restrictions and extra verification at delivery.
- If you need it fast, choose full payment — Prepaid orders unlock more shipper options including expedited shipping. For urgent or time-sensitive needs, COD is generally not the right choice for our product range.
Our team shares exact COD shipping timelines for your specific order during the stock-confirmation step. If COD isn't possible at your location — or too slow for your timeline — they'll offer you a full-payment alternative.
📍 Track your COD order
How you track depends on which method we used to ship your order:
Standard online orders
Most COD orders ship through Shiprocket. Once dispatched, you receive tracking details on email and WhatsApp from the Shiprocket portal. Click the tracking link to follow your shipment live.
Bulk & remote-location orders
For bulk shipments or remote deliveries we use transport companies or special couriers. Our Order Processing team shares the docket details with you on WhatsApp once your shipment is dispatched — reach out anytime for status updates.
