The brief

The client came to us with their office fit-out and a clear requirement: a lighting scheme that does justice to the architecture and delivers proper, comfortable illumination for daily desk work across the whole floor — private cabins, an open workspace, meeting rooms, reception, washrooms and staircases. Rather than simply hand over a fixture list, they wanted us to suggest the design to suit the space and the way each room is actually used.

How we approached it

We worked zone by zone. Each room was modelled in Dialux and matched to the right fixture family — high-CRI recessed downlights and linear cove lighting for the work areas, architectural pendants and feature luminaires for reception and cabins, magnetic-track accents where flexibility mattered, and calmer fixtures for circulation. We then specified a curated mix of premium imported and Indian luminaires and ran the photometric calculation for every working plane, adjusting fixture counts and spacing until each space met its illuminance and glare target before anything was finalised.

Fixtures used

A curated, zone-by-zone specification of premium architectural luminaires. The work areas use high-CRI recessed downlights — 88 × Exenia Teddy (11.6 W, CRI 85, 4000 K) and 13 × Exenia Pin REVO high-comfort downlights (16.9 W, CRI 98, UGR<13) — together with 145 × Exenia METRIX linear cove fittings (3.1 W, CRI 92, 3000 K), 34 × Mazinoor Infinity-D continuous light bars (24 W) and an EGLO OfficeLine50 (33.9 W) over the open office. Reception and cabins are lifted by architectural and feature pieces: 12 × XAL Meno Square 900 (132 W), an Artemide Copernico pendant, 4 × Aura Light Gloster globe pendants, 6 × SLV One Flat pendants and 2 × Glamox i75. Flexibility and accenting come from 24 × Jaquar Orelli Slim magnetic track heads (12 W) and SLV Light Eye 90/150 spots, with 8 × Exenia Yoma fittings on the staircases. In total: roughly 354 luminaires, 4,918 W connected load and 482,962 lumens at 98.2 lm/W system efficacy.

Verified outcome

Every occupied zone clears the office standard. Private cabins and workstations land between 535 and 1,164 lx on the working plane — at or above the 300–500 lx office target — while the 127 m² open office averages 860 lx and the reception lobby 453 lx. Glare is held in check, with task areas inside the UGR ≤ 19 office limit and the CRI-98 Pin REVO downlights chosen specifically for very high visual comfort; colour rendering stays high throughout at CRI 85–98. Circulation and staircases are deliberately calmer. The full Dialux report — per-room luminaire layouts, illuminance maps and UGR diagrams — was issued to the client so the scheme could be signed off and ordered with the lighting already proven on paper.
