📄 Project Design Report (PDF)
Full Dialux-engineered lighting design report — bespoke pattern marking plan, fixture layout, isolux contours, and per-surface lux calculations.
Project: Unity Group Swimming Pool — Custom Lighting Design
Location: Unity Group Tower (Tower E), Delhi
Project Type: Commercial Spaces Lighting Design — Indoor Swimming Pool
Scope: Bespoke ceiling pattern · ~160 m² (~1,733 sqft) pool area · IP65 weatherproof
Year: 2025
Design Team: Jainsons Lights Design Studio (custom pattern + DIALux verification)
The brief
The client gave us a raw ceiling — a fluted wood-panel surface in their swimming pool area — plus a reference image of the look they wanted (random-yet-balanced linear LED strips integrated into the ceiling grooves) and a rough hand-sketched dimension drawing. They asked us to design the lighting pattern from scratch and verify whether the profile light they planned to install would actually deliver the lux levels a swimming pool area needs.
How we approached it
Two-stage work. First we designed the bespoke pattern — laid out 40+ flexible silicon profile-light positions across the 10×3 m main ceiling zone in a random-yet-balanced arrangement that visually continued the existing fluted-panel rhythm without looking machine-perfect. Then we ran the full design through Dialux to verify perpendicular illuminance at the working plane (0.8 m above floor) and on the calculation surface. Where the original spacing left dark patches, we adjusted positions. The fixture choice — Eliante flexible silicon profile, IP65, 12 W/m — was retained. The pattern math was ours.
Fixtures used
Eliante linear flexible silicon profile — IP65 weatherproof rating (built for moisture-rich poolside conditions), 24 V DC constant voltage, 12 W per metre, 120 LEDs per metre using 2835 LED chip technology, 3000 K warm white, CRI 80, 100 lm/W luminous efficacy (1,651 lm per 5 m roll). Flush-mounted into the ceiling recesses so the profile sits within the wood panel, giving glare-free linear illumination that reads as part of the architecture, not as a separate fitting.
Verified outcome
Dialux confirmed 595 lx average illuminance on the working plane against the ≥500 lx swimming-pool standard — comfortably above target. Calculation surface (floor level): 546 lx average. Lighting power density: 7.89 W/m² (very efficient). Annual energy consumption: 2,116 kWh/a against the maximum budget of 5,650 kWh/a — well under the cap. Mounting height varies 4.0 – 5.25 m to follow the curved ceiling geometry. Min / Max illuminance on the working plane: 296 / 765 lx. The full Dialux report — bespoke pattern marking plan, AutoCAD layout, isolux contours, BOQ — was delivered for site execution.
