Complete Lighting Design at The Golden Meadows Resort, Sonamarg

The Golden Meadows Resort, a mountain property in Sonamarg, Jammu & Kashmir, came to us for a complete lighting design covering the entire property — the entrance and gardens, every guest room, the restaurant and bar, and the resort’s signature stone feature wall.

The brief

Golden Meadows wanted their resort to feel as warm and inviting after dark as it does against the Sonamarg mountains by day — welcoming from the gate, comfortable in every room, and atmospheric across the restaurant and bar.

How we approached it

We designed lighting for the property zone by zone: weatherproof gate and post lighting to mark the entrance, pathway lighting tracing the driveway and gardens, warm cove lighting and recessed downlights inside guest rooms, soft vanity lighting above bathroom mirrors, a clustered pendant fixture over the restaurant’s reclaimed-wood roof trusses, accent spotlighting along the bar, and a dedicated wall light to highlight the resort’s stone feature wall.

Fixtures used

Exterior gate and post lights in a die-cast aluminium body rated IP-65 for weatherproofing; warm ceiling-perimeter cove lighting and recessed downlights for guest rooms; soft wall-mounted mirror/vanity lighting for bathrooms; an iron-and-glass three-light pendant cluster over the restaurant seating; aluminium die-cast LED-COB spotlights along the bar; and an iron-bodied, exposed-bulb wall light for the feature stone wall.
